A Darwin python, more accurately a Darwin Carpet Python (Morelia spilota variegata), is a non-venomous python species native to northern Australia that can be kept as a pet by experienced reptile keepers. They require a secure, spacious enclosure with proper heating, lighting, and climbing areas. Their care includes feeding appropriately sized rodents, and due to their size and strength, they are not recommended for beginners. Keeping one also requires obtaining a wildlife license from your state or territory.
