Keeping a Sailfin Pleco requires a very large tank (400L+ for adults) due to their impressive adult size (up to 35-50cm), strong filtration, and plenty of driftwood for grazing/hiding, a diet of algae wafers, blanched veggies (zucchini, spinach), and occasional protein, and tank mates that are large and peaceful, avoiding aggressive species or other bottom dwellers. They are generally peaceful but need space, good water quality, and specific décor to thrive long-term (10-15 years).
